What does Jesus really mean when He says, “Judge not”?

In Session 10 of Kingdom Living, Pastor Virgil walks through Matthew 7:1–6 and the difference between having a judgmental, critical heart and using wise, righteous judgment. Jesus does not call us to ignore what is wrong. He calls us to examine our own hearts first and then respond to others with discernment, humility, mercy, and love.

Before we focus on the speck in someone else’s eye, are we willing to let the Lord reveal the plank in our own? Are we teachable and open to correction from the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, and the people He has placed in our lives?

As followers of Christ, we are not called to be judgmental people with critical hearts, but people of wise judgment who speak the truth in love, desire restoration over condemnation, and walk humbly with God.
